What is a DNG file?
DNG – Adobe Digital Negative RAW photo. DNG (Digital Negative) is Adobe's open RAW format. Some cameras write it directly; other RAW files can be converted to it. It holds the sensor data before it is turned into a picture.

Good to know
- Choose a quality in Options: lower numbers make a smaller AVIF with less detail.
- DNG files are developed on our server with the camera's own white balance, then saved as AVIF. Expect a good-looking picture, not a replacement for your RAW editor.
- Tick Remove metadata in Options to leave out information stored in the picture, such as the camera and the place.
