Good to know

  • The PPTM file is opened by LibreOffice, not by Microsoft Office. Text, tables, pictures and ordinary charts convert accurately; effects such as SmartArt, animations, some chart styles and fonts LibreOffice does not have can look different from Office, so check a complex file before relying on it.
  • Macros in the file are not run and are not kept.
  • Each slide becomes a page of the same shape as the slide. Animations, transitions and speaker notes are not in a PDF.
  • Choose which pages to convert in Options, for example 1-3,5.
  • Tick PDF/A in Options for a file meant for long-term archiving: it embeds its fonts and avoids features that may stop working in future.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting PPTM to PDF free?

Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.

Are my PPTM files uploaded anywhere?

This conversion runs on our server, because reading a PPTM file needs LibreOffice, which does not run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion. The server has no internet access while it works on your file.

How large can the PPTM file be?

Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.

Will the PDF look the same as the PPTM?

The pages keep their text, pictures and layout. A PPTM file that uses fonts the converter does not have is shown with similar ones, so lines can break in different places.

Can I convert several PPTM files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.

Can I choose pages or quality for the PDF?

Yes. Click Options next to the file. Only the settings that make sense for PPTM to PDF are shown, including which pages to convert.
