What is a CBC file?
CBC – Comic book collection. CBC is a comic book collection: a ZIP that lists several comic books (CBZ files) and holds them in one file.
CBC Converter →What is a MOBI file?
MOBI – Mobipocket e-book. MOBI is the e-book format of Mobipocket, once the format of Kindle e-readers. Older Kindles open it; newer ones prefer EPUB or AZW3. Books bought in a store often have DRM, which stops them from being converted.

Good to know
- The CBC e-book is converted by calibre. Copy-protected (DRM) e-books cannot be converted: ConvertKitty does not remove DRM, so use books you have bought without it or that are free of it.
- A comic book is a picture for each page, so the MOBI holds the pictures, not text.
- The MOBI e-book is made by calibre from the text, headings and pictures of the CBC file; a cover is not created.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting CBC to MOBI free?
Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.
Are my CBC files uploaded anywhere?
This conversion runs on our server, because reading a CBC file needs calibre, which does not run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion. The server has no internet access while it works on your file.
How large can the CBC file be?
Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.
Will the MOBI look the same as the CBC?
The text, chapters and pictures are kept. The look can differ: MOBI readers use their own fonts and page sizes, so page breaks move.
Can I convert several CBC files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.
