  • The PAGES file is opened by LibreOffice. Fonts it does not have are replaced, so line and page breaks can differ a little from the program that made the file.
  • PAGES is read by LibreOffice's import filter for it; very complex formatting can be simplified.
  • Only Pages files saved by recent versions of Pages can be read; LibreOffice does not support every one.
  • The EPUB e-book is made by calibre from the text, headings and pictures of the PAGES file; a cover is not created.
