RTF – Rich Text Format document. RTF (Rich Text Format) is a plain text format with formatting codes. Almost every word processor reads it, which made it the usual way to exchange formatted text; it has no real support for modern features.

Good to know
- The PDB e-book is converted by calibre. Copy-protected (DRM) e-books cannot be converted: ConvertKitty does not remove DRM, so use books you have bought without it or that are free of it.
- Only the text is kept: pictures, fonts and the table of contents are not.
- The RTF is made so that word processors can edit it.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting PDB to RTF free?
Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.
Are my PDB files uploaded anywhere?
This conversion runs on our server, because reading a PDB file needs calibre, which does not run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion. The server has no internet access while it works on your file.
How large can the PDB file be?
Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.
Will the RTF look the same as the PDB?
Only the text is kept: pictures, fonts and the table of contents are not.
Can I convert several PDB files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.
