Good to know

  • A PS file can hold several pages. BMP holds one picture, so when there is more than one page you get a ZIP with a BMP for each page.
  • PS pages are drawn at 300 dpi by Ghostscript on our server; choose another resolution in Options.
  • Tick Remove metadata in Options to leave out information stored in the picture, such as the camera and the place.

Frequently asked questions

Is converting PS to BMP free?

Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.

Are my PS pictures uploaded anywhere?

This conversion runs on our server, because drawing PostScript needs Ghostscript, which doesn't run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion.

How large can the PS file be?

Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.

Can I change the size or quality of the BMP?

Yes. Click Options next to the file to set a width and height, choose a quality, remove metadata and more. Only the settings that make sense for PS to BMP are shown.

Can I convert several PS files at once?

Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.
