CBR – Comic book archive (RAR). CBR is a comic book archive: a RAR file of one picture for each page. Comic readers open it, but it is harder to make than CBZ because RAR is a proprietary format.

- The CBR e-book is converted by calibre. Copy-protected (DRM) e-books cannot be converted: ConvertKitty does not remove DRM, so use books you have bought without it or that are free of it.
- A comic book is a picture for each page, so the RTF holds the pictures, not text. There is no text to take out of pictures, so the file is nearly empty.
- The RTF is made so that word processors can edit it.
