What is a POTX file?
POTX – PowerPoint template. POTX is a PowerPoint template: slide layouts, colors and fonts to start new presentations from. Converting it gives you the slides of the template as a PDF, pictures or a presentation.

PNG – PNG image. PNG keeps every pixel as it was, which keeps the sharp edges of text. A page converted to PNG is a picture of it, with the text no longer selectable.

Good to know
- The POTX file is opened by LibreOffice, not by Microsoft Office. Text, tables, pictures and ordinary charts convert accurately; effects such as SmartArt, animations, some chart styles and fonts LibreOffice does not have can look different from Office, so check a complex file before relying on it.
- A template holds the slide layouts and any slides saved with it; these are converted.
- Each page becomes a picture. A document with more than one page comes back as a ZIP with a PNG for each page, drawn at 150 dots per inch unless you choose otherwise in Options.
- The text in the pictures cannot be selected or searched.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting POTX to PNG free?
Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.
Are my POTX files uploaded anywhere?
This conversion runs on our server, because reading a POTX file needs LibreOffice, which does not run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion. The server has no internet access while it works on your file.
How large can the POTX file be?
Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.
Will the PNG look the same as the POTX?
The pages keep their text, pictures and layout. A POTX file that uses fonts the converter does not have is shown with similar ones, so lines can break in different places.
Can I convert several POTX files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.
Can I choose pages or quality for the PNG?
Yes. Click Options next to the file. Only the settings that make sense for POTX to PNG are shown, including which pages to convert.
