What is an SVG file?
SVG – Scalable Vector Graphics. SVG is the web's vector picture format: shapes, paths and text described in XML, so the drawing stays sharp at any size. Every browser draws it, and design programs open it.

JPG – JPEG image. JPG is the most common photo format. A page converted to JPG is a picture of it: the text can no longer be selected, but every device shows it.

Good to know
- The SVG drawing is drawn by Inkscape. Fonts the server does not have are replaced, so text can change shape; convert the text to outlines first when it matters. Only the first page is converted.
- For safety, anything in an SVG that points to another file, scripts, embedded web pages and style sheets from elsewhere are left out; the drawing itself is unchanged.
- The drawing becomes a picture of the size it asks for (96 dots per inch): set the size or the dots per inch in Options. A picture cannot be scaled up without blurring, which is what a drawing is for.
- Each page becomes a picture. A document with more than one page comes back as a ZIP with a JPG for each page, drawn at 150 dots per inch unless you choose otherwise in Options.
- The text in the pictures cannot be selected or searched.
Frequently asked questions
Is converting SVG to JPG free?
Yes. Everyone gets 25 free credits a day, with no account needed. Conversions on our server use one credit per started minute of work, so most cost a single credit. Credits reset at midnight UTC.
Are my SVG files uploaded anywhere?
This conversion runs on our server, because drawing an SVG file needs Inkscape, which does not run in a browser. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, and both it and the result are deleted 72 hours after the conversion. The server has no internet access while it works on your file.
How large can the SVG file be?
Up to 1 GB per file. This conversion runs on our server, which accepts files up to that size.
Will the JPG look the same as the SVG?
The drawing becomes a picture of one size, so it looks the same at that size but cannot be scaled up without blurring.
Can I convert several SVG files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like; they are converted one after another, and each one gets its own Download button.
Can I choose pages or quality for the JPG?
Yes. Click Options next to the file. Only the settings that make sense for SVG to JPG are shown.
